CGA 2015smallMission: The mission of the Casa Grande Alliance is to create partnerships and work together to reduce substance abuse and violence among youth and adults.

Vision: The Casa Grande Alliance is the catalyst for developing a healthy community.

Motto: Partnering for a safe and drug-free community.

The Casa Grande Alliance was established in 1989 as part of a nation-wide coalition development movement based on the concept that local people can solve local problems.  During the early years, the coalition did not have a host agency nor staff, and activities were accomplished through collaborations and projects funded by member agencies.  In 2003 the Coalition was awarded a 10-year Drug Free Communities grant by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, with Against Abuse, Inc. serving as our fiscal agent.  This funding transformed our group into a highly functioning coalition that is recognized on the state and nation levels as a premier community coalition.

Group Photo.webCoalitions provide a framework for organizations, families and individuals to address substance abuse issues in the community.  We serve Pinal County, Arizona, focusing primarily on Casa Grande and the surrounding communities.

In January 2009 we marked 20 years as a community coalition with celebration.  Our guest speaker was Mr. Jack Claypool, Administrator of the Drug Free Communities Office, Executive Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy.  The event was attended by representatives from Governor Janet Napolitano’s Office of Substance Abuse Policy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, SAMHSA Project Officers, and most importantly, our community partners.
