Federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents and Casa Grande Police detectives say they have shut down a synthetic drug operation and arrested the manufacturer and distributor.

More than 500 pounds of synthetic cannabinoid sold as “Headrush” was seized after detectives purchased 1,000 packets of the illicit product during an undercover operation in Casa Grande. DEA agents subsequently identified and dismantled the large manufacturing facility in Phoenix, where 1.2 tons of the shrub damiana also was discovered along with hydroponic marijuana.
