Vaping free Program
Our Goal
Casa Grande Alliance will provide vaping prevention education to school-aged youth to reduce vaping by informing them of its risks. We also accept referrals from partner schools for students at risk of suspension due to vaping.
You and Me, Together Vape- Free (4th and 5th grade)
An evidence-based curriculum developed by the Stanford REACH Lab at Stanford University School of Medicine. The two lessons teach students about the health effects caused by vaping, how tobacco companies target youth, the environmental impact of vapes, and positive coping techniques for stress. Includes notification to parents/guardians and a pre- and post-survey for the youth to measure the knowledge gained from the presentations.
CATCH My Breath (6th through 12th grades)
An evidence-based curriculum developed by the CATCH Global Foundation and the University of Texas Health and Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). The two lessons educate the students on the health effects and other consequences of vaping (both nicotine and marijuana), substance misuse and addiction, deceptive marketing strategies used by the tobacco industry, refusal skills, and supports for youth wanting to quit. Includes notification to parents/guardians and a pre- and post-survey for the youth to measure the knowledge gained from the presentations.
